Settings & Preferences

Customize your experience. Configure communication style, workflow behavior, and notification preferences.

Settings & Preferences

Your Settings page is where you personalize the platform to work the way you do. From how Marlow writes messages to how often you get reminders, everything adjusts to fit your style.

Accessing Settings

Click Settings in the left sidebar. You'll see a navigation menu with sections:

  • Account — Your profile and personal information
  • Preferences — Communication, business, workflow, and notifications
  • Integrations — Calendar, scheduling, and booking connections

Quick tip: Press ⌘K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) anywhere in the platform to search settings directly. Type what you're looking for and jump straight there.

Profile Settings

Your profile tells the platform (and Marlow) who you are.

Your Name

This is how you'll appear across the platform—in messages, greetings, and the interface. Edit it anytime.

Email Address

Your account email is read-only since it's tied to your login. Need to change it? Contact support.

User ID

A unique identifier for your account. You'll rarely need this, but support may ask for it when troubleshooting.

Workflow Configuration

Control how the action queue and reminders work.

Follow-up Pace

How aggressively should the system remind you about tasks?

Relaxed — Less frequent reminders

  • Intervals: 2 hours → 6 hours → 1 day → 2 days → 3 days → 1 week
  • Best for: A slower, less pressured approach

Standard — Balanced timing (default)

  • Intervals: 1 hour → 3 hours → 6 hours → 12 hours → 1 day → 1 week
  • Best for: Most people

Aggressive — More frequent reminders

  • Intervals: 30 minutes → 1 hour → 2 hours → 4 hours → 8 hours → 1 day
  • Best for: Fast-paced, high-volume outreach

When someone messages you, an action appears after the first interval. Snoozing moves it to the next interval in the sequence.

Notification Preferences

Decide how and when you get notified.

Desktop Notifications

This is the master toggle. Turn it on to receive browser notifications, then configure which types you want.

When you enable this, your browser will ask for permission—click "Allow."

Notification Types

Each type can be toggled independently:

Inbound Messages — When contacts message you. Great for quick responses.

Training Reminders — Module deadlines, quiz availability, and progress nudges.

Landing Page Leads — New form submissions. Useful for fast follow-up on hot leads.

Action Escalations — When tasks become more urgent. Keeps important items from slipping.

For each type, you can enable:

  • In-app toast — A brief notification inside the platform
  • Desktop notification — A browser popup even when you're in another tab

Integration Settings

Connect external tools to expand the platform's capabilities.

Calendar — Link Google Calendar to see availability and track appointments. See Calendar & Scheduling Integration.

Scheduling — Connect Calendly or Cal.com for booking links. See Calendar & Scheduling Integration.

Booking — Set up native booking with your availability. See Events & Native Booking.

Saving Your Changes

Most settings require clicking Save Changes after you edit them. A button appears when you've made changes.

Some toggles (like notifications) save immediately.

If you want to undo unsaved changes, click Reset or simply navigate away—the platform will warn you if you have unsaved edits.

Tips for Getting Settings Right

Start with the basics. Complete your profile and communication preferences first. These have the biggest impact on your day-to-day experience.

Test after changing. After adjusting communication settings, generate a test draft to see if it matches what you want.

Review periodically. As your business evolves, your settings should too. Check in every few months and update what's changed.

Match workflow to reality. If you're feeling overwhelmed by reminders, try "Relaxed" pace. If things are slipping through the cracks, try "Aggressive."

Common Questions

"My AI drafts don't sound like me."

Check your Communication preferences—tone, formality, and emoji settings all affect the output. Try different combinations until it feels right.

"I'm getting too many notifications."

Turn off notification types you don't need, or switch to in-app toasts only (less intrusive than desktop popups).

"I'm not getting any notifications."

Make sure the master desktop toggle is on, your browser has granted permission, and the specific notification types are enabled.

"I can't find a setting."

Use the quick search (⌘K / Ctrl+K) and type what you're looking for. You can also ask Marlow—"Where do I change my notification settings?"

"Settings aren't taking effect."

Make sure you clicked Save Changes. If it still doesn't work, try refreshing the page. Some settings apply to new content only, not existing drafts.
